Single door fridges: what usually goes wrong
Many homes still have an older single door Godrej fridge, and many of these run well for years. In a direct cool fridge, cooling comes from the freezer box at the top, and ice builds up there over time. A thick layer of ice makes the fridge cool less. Defrosting it regularly helps.
When a single door fridge stops cooling altogether, the usual causes are the thermostat, the relay or overload on the compressor, a gas leak, or in older fridges the compressor itself. The technician checks these in order and tells you the price before repairing.

Questions
My old Godrej fridge makes a clicking sound and does not start. What is it?
A repeated click from the back usually means the compressor is trying to start and the overload is cutting it off. It can be the relay, the overload, low voltage or the compressor. Switch it off and book a check.
Is it worth repairing a ten-year-old Godrej fridge?
It depends on the fault. A thermostat or relay is a small repair. A compressor change on an old fridge may cost a good part of a new one. Our guide on repairing or replacing helps you decide.
Do you repair Godrej washing machines too?
