Which split AC faults can be repaired at home?
Most split AC faults are repaired on site. These include a dead indoor unit, an outdoor unit that does not start, noisy fans, tripping, leaks of water or gas, and faulty capacitors, sensors, fan motors and control boards. A compressor change is a bigger job, and the technician explains the cost and options before deciding.

How a split AC is laid out
A split AC has two units joined by copper pipes and a cable. The indoor unit holds the cooling coil, the blower, the filters, the display and usually the main control board. The outdoor unit holds the compressor, the outdoor coil, a fan and the capacitors that help the motors start.
Knowing which half has the problem saves time. If the indoor unit does not respond to the remote, the fault is often on the indoor side. If the indoor fan blows but the air is not cold, look at the outdoor side first.
Faults we repair

- Bad smell from the indoor unit
- Water dripping from the indoor unit
- Weak cooling from low gas or dirty coils

What you can safely check first
Check that the switch and MCB for the AC are on, and change the remote batteries. Point the remote straight at the indoor unit and listen for the beep. If the AC trips the MCB as soon as it starts, leave it off and do not keep resetting it. That points to an electrical fault that needs a technician.

Which brands do you repair?
Most common brands. We are an authorised dealer for Carrier Midea and Blue Star ACs. For other brands we repair as an independent service. If your AC is under the brand's warranty, check with the brand first, as their repair may be free.
